Why is the actual playback time different from the displayed time?

It will be shorter depends on the playback environment like volume, MP3 file quality (128,192,320Kbps), file codec (WAV, OGG,  
ASF, WMA, FLAC etc.) and so on. While recording, the playback time will be 3 times shorter.

The playback time depends on what kind of file you were playing.
If you play lower quality files and MP3 files, the playback time will be longer.
